    Anti-Dumping or Unjustified Protection?

The EU Anti-Dumping Duties on Ceramic Tiles

Paving the Way for Unfair Competition

The Imposition of EU Anti-Dumping Duties on Ceramic Tiles from China

The EU’s and the US’s Preferential Arrangements

    – a Comparison

Various studies have shown how the cost of compliance with rules of origin often outweighs the benefits of the tariff preferences. The report "The impact of Rules of Origin on Trade" summarises existing literature which confirms that rules of origin often act as a barrier to trade by having negative effects on both utilisation of preferences and trade flows.

Survey of e-commerce barriers within the EU

20 examples of trade barriers in the digital internal market

According to the Eurobarometer, 33 percent of consumers purchase products online within the EU, but only 7 percent do this across borders. There are several reasons for this level of fragmentation in the market, such as a low level of confidence in the Internet, a low level of broadband provision, deficient interoperability, cultural differences (with regard to language, payment methods, customer behaviour patterns) and barriers of a legal nature. In this report, the Board has focused on the last category. We highlight examples that demonstrate the legal barriers that companies face when they wish to expand their operations into other EU countries.
